Mother Theresa Charitable Hospital Trust, Kalaburagi, received special appreciation from the District Administration and the District Health Department for its outstanding contribution and collaboration in combating Tuberculosis (TB) in the district. The recognition was conferred during the World Tuberculosis Day celebration held in Kalaburagi, in acknowledgement of the Trust’s sustained efforts in supporting TB patients and strengthening the district’s fight against the disease.
The appreciation was received by Fr. Dr. Anil Crasta, Director of Mother Theresa Charitable Hospital Trust, from the esteemed dignitaries present at the event, including the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kalaburagi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zilla Panchayat, and the District Health Officer (DHO) of Kalaburagi. The honour recognized the Trust’s valuable partnership with government health agencies and its commitment to improving the lives of TB patients through innovative and community-centred interventions.
A major contribution of the Trust has been its flagship PAUSTIK – Nutrition Program for Tuberculosis Patients, through which more than 80 TB patients receive nutrition food kits for six months. The initiative has played a crucial role in strengthening patients’ immunity, improving treatment adherence, and enhancing recovery outcomes. By addressing the nutritional needs of economically disadvantaged patients, the Trust has complemented the medical efforts of the public health system and contributed to the broader goal of eliminating Tuberculosis.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Dr. Anil Crasta expressed gratitude to the District Administration, District Health Department, donors, healthcare workers, and community partners for their continued support and collaboration. He reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to serving the most vulnerable sections of society and working closely with government agencies to achieve a TB-free Kalaburagi.
The recognition serves as an encouragement to Mother Theresa Charitable Hospital Trust to continue its mission of compassionate healthcare and community service. The Trust remains dedicated to promoting health, dignity, and hope among the poor and marginalized, while actively contributing to national and district-level public health initiatives.
